Safety Awareness Award Presented to Blue Tech

 

Blue Tech Receives STAR Program Award for Safety Awareness During Surveillance System Installation Project

 

SAN DIEGO, California - March 5, 2009 - Blue Tech has been presented by NAVFAC, San Diego, CA, a Safety Through Awards and Recognition (STAR) program award for outstanding safety awareness during the execution of the Install Video Camera Surveillance System for the Department of the Navy.  The award was given in reference to contract N62473-08-C-8013.  Blue Tech, an ISO 9001-2008 certified company, has met the high standards of NAVFAC and the FEAD Office as outlined below for safety on the jobsite:

  • Zero Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) incidents throughout the life of contract 
  • No significant ($10,000) contractor/government property damage for the contract
  • No safety non-compliance notices or stop work orders
  • No findings during Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance inspections
  • Minimum Overall Satisfactory performance evaluation - including quality
  • Cumulative Average score of 90% or better on contractor safety self-evaluation checklist 

STAR Awards are only given to companies that have demonstrated a corporate proactive safety posture.
